Shuang Fei Zhua (雙飛撾)

Ming Chinese Throwing Claw
Drawing of a Shuang Fei Zhua, from 'Wu Bei Zhi (《武備志》)'.
Shuang Fei Zhua (雙飛撾, lit. 'Twin flying claw') is basically the Chinese version of bolas that has two iron articulated claws in place of spherical weights. Its primary use is to entangle enemy horsemen.

  1. I think they were featured in this movie as well, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzujYliYsgU (at least it looks like the same weapon to me)

    1. Yes, that's it. I doubt it can really slash someone's throat like in the movie though. One antique I saw (from an auction catalogue, looks fairly legit though) doesn't look like human hand/animal claw either.
