Bian Chong (邊銃, lit. 'Border gun'), also known as Chong Gun (銃棍, lit. 'Staff gun') is a relatively common but very obscure weapon of the Ming armies. Like its namesake, it is commonly used by border troops. Bian Chong is essentially a double-ended handgonne that also doubles as a quarterstaff. It comes with two iron sights, one for each end, to facilitate aiming.

Sometimes one half of the weapon is wrapped in bamboo or rattan to serve as quarterstaff grip.
