Gu Wang (罟網, net) is the Chinese term for fishing net and, in military context, also refers to anti-boarding net used to deter enemy boarders. Literally made of recycled fishing net, it is typically used on smaller warships not equipped with defensive parapets.
Chinese sailors often wrapped their vessels with ten or more layers of netting, so that these fishing nets could also shield them from enemy arrows.
