Shuang Fei Zhua (雙飛撾)

Ming Chinese Throwing Claw
Drawing of a Shuang Fei Zhua, from 'Wu Bei Zhi (《武備志》)'.
Shuang Fei Zhua (雙飛撾, lit. 'Twin flying claw') was basically a Chinese version of bolas that had two iron articulated claws in place of spherical weights. Its primary use was to entangle enemy horsemen.

  1. I think they were featured in this movie as well, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzujYliYsgU (at least it looks like the same weapon to me)

    1. Yes, that's it. I doubt it can really slash someone's throat like in the movie though. One antique I saw (from an auction catalogue, looks fairly legit though) doesn't look like human hand/animal claw either.
